Schedule a Research Appointment

HSP is now offering appointments for our researchers, Tuesdays through Thursdays. In order to accommodate as many people as possible, appointments are limited in duration and available in two shifts: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. You may register for two appointments in a day and up to four slots per week (12 hours), depending on availability.

 

Researchers will be able to browse the open stacks (e.g. city directories, published neighborhood and family histories), call for closed stacks materials (e.g. manuscripts and printed items), use subscription databases, or consult microfilm. Please remember to bring your camera for reproductions!

 

A few things to keep in mind:

• Please note at this time, admission to the library is free for HSP Members or Students with school ID, and $5 per timeslot ($10 for the whole day) for non-members. You can learn more about membership here: https://www.portal.hsp.org/become-a-friend

• HSP currently requires the use of face masks in all public areas except those designated for eating. If you arrive on your day of research without a mask, we cannot allow you to enter the library. If you're sick or feeling unwell, please cancel or reschedule your appointment for a later date.
